It was with great honor that CICF/ESG received Professor Charles Cho, from the Schulich School of Business of the University of York (Canada), on October 17. After a visit to the campus, the professor visited the CICF where he met with researchers and had the opportunity to meet some of the projects developed. Professor Charles Cho is a member of the CICF’s External Monitoring Committee, and in this context he also met with the CICF Direction to reflect on the CICF’s strategic plan for the next 4 years.
After a social lunch with CICF members, the Professor was the keynote speaker of the Research Seminar: Approaching Sustainability through Accounting Education. This was a special moment of sharing experience and reflection on the challenges of sustainability in accounting education.
This initiative resulted from a joint organization between the Centre for Organizational and Social Studies Polytechnic of Porto (CEOS.PP) and the Centre for Research in Accounting and Taxation (CICF) of the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave. In this context, on October 16, Professor Charles Cho was also the keynote speaker of the Research Seminar: Opening Accounting: a Manifesto & Accounting for Impact, organized by CEOS.PP – ISCAP/IPP.
The visit of Professor Charles Cho occurred in a warm and informal atmosphere and took place in an enriching sharing between the speaker and the audience present. During two stimulating and interactive sessions, Professor Charles Cho shared his experience and vision on the subject of accounting addressed by innovative points of view.
