Today the Research Center for Accounting and Taxation is poorer with the departure of our esteemed Professor João Carvalho.

Known by all as the “father” of the POCP, he pioneered the implementation of public accounting reform in Portugal, and his contribution was undeniable in advancing research in this area in our country.

The growth and affirmation of the CICF is the result of much research work developed by Professor João Carvalho, recognized by the academic and scientific community, with particular emphasis on the Financial Yearbook of Portuguese Municipalities, which he coordinated for 14 years.

More than one member, the CICF has lost what is and will always be a reference in teaching and research in the area of ​​Public Accounting. It is now up to us to honor his name by continuing the work he has developed.

The memory will remain of a great MAN and a great work for the region, Portugal, Polytechnic Higher Education, Research and Public Accounting.

The body is in fiery chamber in the Igreja Paroquial de Real (next to the chapel of São Frutuoso – Real), in Braga, from the 28th, Friday, at 11am. The funeral will be held next Saturday, December 29th, starting at 10:30 am, at the Igreja Paroquial de Real, in Braga.
