The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) has evaluated the IPCA’s Research Centre on Accounting and Taxation (CICF) with VERY GOOD.

The international panel of evaluators highlighted the relevance of the R&D activities, as well as the quality and merit of the CICF team. Applied and practice-oriented research and the work carried out in partnership with the region and local community were equally highlighted and encouraged in the scope of the next 4-year activity plan.

CICF is a R&D unit created by the School of Management (ESG) of IPCA in 2007, with 21 integrated members, including 5 PhD students, and several collaborating members. In addition to IPCA, CICF includes members from 5 Polytechnic Institutes and the University of Aveiro. The results of this evaluation strengthen the financing conditions to develop the strategic plan for the next 4 years. There are several challenges for research in the field of Accounting and Taxation, to which this team will make an undeniable contribution.

This recognition by FCT reinforces the role of accounting and taxation in the educational and scientific project of ESG and IPCA. IPCA was born with an educational offer in this area and today sees the route and the path of excellence made over the years recognized.

IPCA, thus, sees its R&D strategy recognized and consolidated, after having also obtained the VERY GOOD rating of 2Ai: Applied Artificial Intelligence and ID +: Design, Media and Culture Research Institute (in partnership with University of Aveiro and the University of Porto).
